🏔️ Description

The Rab Hyperon 80 ND is an 80-liter backpack for multi-day trekking and expedition approaches with substantial loads. The V-TRAX™ carry system, extendable hip belt, and front and bottom access points allow you to organize gear and adjust the fit during long days. The ND version features a narrower fit, designed for women and individuals with a slimmer build.

⭐ Mountain Group's take

Its 80-liter capacity makes sense when the volume of your gear, food, or self-sufficiency needs exceeds that of a conventional trekking backpack. It is best to reserve this capacity for routes that truly require it. Before deciding, the fit of the back panel and hip belt should take priority over capacity.

⚡ Real technical performance

The hook-and-loop back adjustment of the V-TRAX™ system allows you to fine-tune the harness position. The hip belt incorporates dual-pivot fins and a load-transfer stabilizer bar. Internal and external compression straps help stabilize the contents as the backpack's volume changes.

Front and bottom access points prevent the need to empty the pack to reach gear at the bottom. The internal divider allows you to organize compartments according to your route.

✅ Is it for you?

It is a good fit if you need to carry a load for several days and value the ability to adjust the carry and access the contents from different points. For a day trip with little gear, a smaller volume backpack will be more appropriate.

❓ Frequently asked questions

Does the rain cover make the backpack waterproof?

No. The cover is an external layer of protection against rain. For gear that must stay dry, organize your interior with dry bags.

What is the difference between the standard and ND versions?

ND identifies a narrower fit. The choice depends on how the carry system adapts to your body, not just on capacity.
