Description
The Rab Ionosphere 5 is an ultralight inflatable sleeping pad designed to offer an optimal balance between weight, insulation, and packability. Intended for trekking, bikepacking, and mountaineering in cold conditions, it combines advanced technologies such as TILT and Stratus™ R to maximize thermal retention.
It is an ideal option for those looking for a lightweight mat with enough insulation to extend its range of use beyond summer.
Real technical performance
The TILT system reflects body heat back to the user, while Stratus™ R insulation reduces heat loss by convection. This allows for thermal comfort to be maintained even in cold conditions without significantly increasing weight.
With an R-Value of 4.8, this sleeping pad offers an excellent compromise between insulation and weight, making it suitable for three seasons and even moderately cold conditions.
Its mummy design reduces bulk and weight, while the valve system allows for quick inflation and deflation in the field.
